Harmonie Dermatology was originally founded by a Mohs Micrographic Surgeon (specialized skin cancer surgeon) and a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with the vision that patients with skin cancer deserved both state-of-the-art care and convenience. Upon the diagnosis of a skin cancer, Harmonie Dermatology distinguishes itself in providing specialists for every step of your treatment. Especially in cosmetically important areas such as the face, our Board-Certified Micrographic Dermatologic Surgeon uses a specialized technique of skin cancer removal called Mohs Micrographic Surgery to preserve the most normal tissue, while completely removing the skin cancer. The complete removal of the skin cancer then is determined by a Board-Certified Dematopathologist (Skin Pathologist). Dermatopathology is the medical specialty of microscopically examining skin specimens, critically important in assessing the complete excision of skin cancers. The defect from the complete removal of the skin cancer is then reconstructed by a Board-Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon or a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon. In most cases, this specialized type of care may involve visits to different physicians located in different practices; however, at Harmonie Dermatology has all of these specialists under one roof.
